On behalf of the National Service Scheme, “Constitution Day” was celebrated in Shri Dnyanesh Mahavidyalaya, Nawargaon Dist. Chandrapur on 28th November 2022 at 10 o’clock sharp in Pasayadan Auditorium. On the occasion of Constitution Day, a lecture was organized of Professor Dr. Santosh Suradkar, Department of History, Gondwana University Gadchiroli on the topic “Need of time to inculcate constitutional values for the overall upliftment of society”.
Speaking, he said, “On 26 November 1949, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar revised the constitution of some countries of the world, guaranteeing the freedom of faith, expression, worship, and profession of all the people of this country. In fact, we took an oath that we will all live in equality and cultivate brotherhood in our country. But today, after 70 years, serious issues such as education, the oppression of women, and religious polarization have arisen in actual social affairs. People are rioting over food and drink. Inequality is seen to be increasing. The values of the constitution do not seem to be rooted in actual practice. After the French Revolution in Europe. The world came to know the value of freedom and nationalism. Modern values became familiar to Indians during the British era. But due to the constitution, we have been given the responsibility to uphold the best values in the world and inculcate them in our behaviour. Today, our responsibility as a student is to show the values of freedom, equality, and brotherhood in our behavior. Want in the periphery of world history, He gave a detailed introduction to the process of Indian independence and the constitution giving many references.
On the death anniversary of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule, Mahatma Jyotirao Phule was felicitated by introducing many books written by him on his educational work and also for social enlightenment. In the cultural history of Maharashtra, Mahatma Jyotirao Phule took a clear stand for human values in the 19th century and put an action plan for social reform before society. Taking his inspiration, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar practices Dharmatherapy and Considers Mahatma Jyotirao Phule as his Guru. Hence Jyotirao Phule’s death anniversary was a part of the program. Students were introduced to his work and the books written by him while greeting him.
Dr. Umesh Indurkar introduced the role behind the program and introduced the guests. On the occasion of National Service Scheme Week, prize distribution of competitions was done on this occasion. Dr. Gajanan Kortalwar introduced various activities of the National Service Scheme on this occasion. The president of the program was Dr. Suresh Bakare, the principal of the college. Prachi Gabhane, a student, read the preamble of the constitution and administered the oath to everyone. The program was coordinated by Atul Barekar, a volunteer of the National Service Scheme. Prof. Hemant Meshram, Program Co-officer of the National Service Scheme, proposed the vote of thanks. College professors and over 200 students were present for the program.
