A Special Lecture was organized at Shri Dnyanesh Mahavidyalaya, Navargaon to commemorate the 135th birth anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. The programme aimed to spread awareness about his ideals of social equality, education, and constitutional values while motivating students towards academic excellence and responsible citizenship.
The programme commenced with floral tribute and garlanding of the portrait of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar by the hands of Dr. Amrut Lanje and guests. The introductory speech was delivered by Dr. Astik Mungmode, who highlighted the importance of celebrating Ambedkar Jayanti as a reminder of the transformative power of education.
On this occasion, distinguished alumna Ms. Karishma Aniruddha Meshram, recently selected as Assistant Conservator of Forest through the Maharashtra Public Service Commission examination, was felicitated during the programme. Another successful student, Ms. Priya Patil, selected as Revenue Assistant, was felicitated during the programme.
The special lecture was delivered by Dr. Umesh Indurkar, who elaborated on the life journey, struggles, and achievements of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. He emphasized that education, rational thinking, and social responsibility were the core principles advocated by Ambedkar for building an equal and progressive society.
The programme was presided over by Principal Dr. Amrit Lanje, who encouraged students to follow the ideals of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and utilize education as a tool for personal growth and social transformation. Prof. Geeta Parvate, Supervisor of the Junior College, was also present on the occasion. The programme was efficiently anchored by Dr. Bhaurao Balbudhe. A large number of students, teaching staff, non-teaching staff, and NSS volunteers actively participated in the programme, making the event meaningful and inspirational.
