Objectives of Activity

1. To review the history of Indian independence.
2. To explain to the students the exciting stages in the progress of India’s Amrit Mahotsav.
3. To create public awareness in the society on the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav year of Independence by taking Prabhat Feri.
4. To create awareness for the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ initiative and convey the code of conduct regarding flag hoisting and flag lowering in the actual society.
5. Conducting personality development activities among students on the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Year of Independence by conducting debate and elocution competition in the college.

Complete Story

On behalf of the Government of Maharashtra, the Director Higher Education Nagpur and Gondwana University National Service Scheme Department had given instructions regarding organizing various programs on the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav 2022. The National Service Scheme of Shri Dnyanesh Mahavidyalaya successfully organized various activities on the occasion of Amrit Mahotsav of Independence from 9th to 17th August 2022. His detailed report is as follows.

1. ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ initiative planning meeting

After receiving the letter No. GU/NSS/170/2022/11.07.2022 first planning meeting regarding the success of Har Ghar Triranga initiative was organized on 18.07.2022. How to implement Har Ghar Triranga initiative in this meeting? How to make tricolor flag available? After the start of the actual activity, awareness rally was planned from the village to maintain the honor of the tricolor flag. A wide discussion was held regarding the success of this initiative to the students of various villages studying in the college by distributing the tricolor flag on behalf of the college. Instructions Received on behalf of Government of Maharashtra Letter dated Ushis/Groghari Tiranga/Mavi-1/2022/105/25 dated 8th August 2022 on behalf of Director Higher Education Nagpur Department. On the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav 2022, preparations were made in the college to organize various programs. Meticulous planning was done to make it more successful.

2. Planning of Awareness Rally / Amrut Jubilee Map

On August 12, 2022, all the students of the junior and senior college gathered in the college premises at exactly nine o’clock in the morning. Detailed instructions were given regarding self-discipline and responsibility of the students regarding self-discipline and message boards to be given in the awareness rally by lining up all the students. Later, a map of India was prepared with the participation of 500 students from the concept of Dr. Suresh Bakare, Principal of the college. All these students were told about their responsibilities in various activities on the occasion of India’s Independence Amrit Mahotsav. Number ‘75’ in English was drawn on the map of India with the participation of some students. A map of India realized in the college premises, and a map showing its 75 years were photographed from a height.

3. Distribution of Flags by the College

Two hundred flags were purchased for the Har Ghar Tiranga initiative on behalf of the college. Tricolor flags were distributed to college students from various villages to make the initiative more widespread by purchasing these flags from the funds of the National Service Scheme. Special instructions were given to the flag receiving students. Hoist the tricolor at your home on 13th August 2022. Instructions were given to salute the flag and sing the national anthem and share two photos of the hoisting of the flag among the group of students in that class of the college. On the evening of 15th August 2022, the flag should be respectfully folded and kept properly. The tricolor flag should not be used in any way as a garment. Don’t throw it around anywhere. In this instruction, the students were given the responsibility to convey this message to the entire community in the village.

4. Message rally in honor of tricolor flag

On August 12, 2022, an awareness rally was held from Navargaon with the participation of nearly seven hundred students of junior and senior colleges on behalf of the National Service Scheme of Shri Dnyanesh College. Nine different message boards were placed in this rally. In which there was a text on how to honor the Tricolor while implementing the Har Ghar Tiranga initiative. The flag should be on the right side of the pillar, the flag should not be used as a cloth after being lowered, the flag should not be twisted, crumpled or torn while hoisting, and our volunteers brought various message boards to the people in the village through the rally. The rally which started from Shri Dnyanesh College was dispersed from Azad Chowk, Kurmar Mohalla Navargaon, and Bus Stand to Main Market back to Shri Dnyanesh College.

5. Active participation of teachers, non-teaching staff in Har Ghar Triranga national campaign

Flags were also distributed to all the teaching and non-teaching staff of the college. Everyone should hoist the flag at their homes and salute the tricolor and sing the national anthem and honor the flag by quoting the flag on 15th August 2022 evening. Instructions were given in this regard. Accordingly, all the teachers and non-teaching staff participated in the Har Ghar Tiranga initiative and hoisted the tricolor at their homes. 6. Letter from Joint Director Higher Education Nagpur Department

Letter No. received from Govt. as directed in Ushinag/Astha/Gharoghari Tricolor/Mavi-1/2022/10525/549 dated 10/08/2022, the tricolor flag in the college was hoisted every morning from 13th to 15th August 2022 at 7:30 AM. The flag was hoisted every evening at 5.30 pm. For this, all the people were present as per the instructions received from the principal of the college. On all the three days, teachers and non-teaching staff and some students were present for the activity of “Harghar Tiranga” in the college. On August 13, 2022, the flag was hoisted by Kumari Manjusha Borkar, the student who obtained the highest CGPA from the University in the Department of Zoology. On August 14, 2022, the flag was hoisted by Kumari Anjali Borkar, the student who obtained the highest CGPA in the Department of Economics. On August 15, 2022, the flag was hoisted by the Secretary of the Bhartiya Shikshan Sanstha Hon’ble Sadanand Borkar. On all the three days, the flag was hoisted by Dr. Suresh Bakare, Principal of the college at 5:30 PM. All the teaching and non-teaching staff of the college and some students were present at this time.

7. Lecture Activities –
“The Tricolor Flag of India as a Symbol of Philosophy in the Constitution”

On the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, on 14th August 2022 at exactly 6:30 PM, Ganpat Dhumale, Professor of Political Science, Maniyar Law College, Jalgaon, gave a lecture on the topic “The Tricolor Flag of India as a Symbol of Philosophy in the Constitution” on the online platform Google Meet. This lecture was moderated by Durgesh Kshirsagar, Professor of English Department. The role of the program was elaborated by Dr. Gajanan Kortalwar, Program Officer of National Service Scheme. Dr. Lalit Ujede performed the responsibility as the President of the program. Professor Hemant Meshram, Program Co-officer, gave the vote of thanks. About 30 students, teachers and non-teaching staff participated in the lecture. This lecture was recorded on an online platform. It is planned to upload this lecture on YouTube channel of the college.

8. Partition Horrors Remembrance Day for College Students

In accordance with the letter received from the University Grants Commission and the Ministry of Education, Government of India D.O.No.266/2022 (CPP-II) on the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, a photo exhibition received from the government on the subject of the partition horrors of the of India is organized in Pasayadan Auditorium of the college on 14th August 2022 at 12.00 o’clock in the afternoon. At Around 600 students from junior and senior college were present to see this exhibition. Dr. Gajanan Kortalwar, program officer of National Service Scheme, introduced the programme. Before the photo exhibition, the principal of the college Dr. Suresh Bakare guided the students. Professor Hemant Meshram, Program Co-officer of National Service Scheme, took responsibility as technical support in the present program. At the end of the program in the junior college, Professor Vadapalliwar, Co-ordinator of National Service Scheme, gave vote of thanks.

9. Partition Horrors Remembrance Day for Society

According to the letter received from the University Grants Commission and the Ministry of Education, Government of India, New Delhi, on behalf of D.O.No.266/2022 (CPP-II) as per the letter received, the photo exhibition of the partition horrors was directed to be made available to the people of the village. As a part of the same, a photo exhibition related to the partition horror was organized on 14th August 2022 at 4.30 pm sharp at Vivekananda Auditorium, Nivedita Mahila Credit Society. Gajanan Kortalwar, program officer of NSS, elaborated the role behind the present program planning. Technical assistance in this program was managed by Professor Hemant Meshram, Program Co-officer. One hundred citizens of the village were present for the program.

10. Per Day 75 Signature Campaign

On the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav 2022, a daily 75 signature campaign was conducted on 13th to 15th August 2022 in the college premises. Various students, teachers, non-teaching staff participated in this activity. 75 signatures were made daily with a blue marker pen on a white board placed in the ground. For this activity Prof. Ankosh Ramteke of Mathematics Department, Prof. Durgesh Kshirsagar Department of English and Prof. Bhaurao Balbuddhe Department of Physics worked hard.

11. Spontaneous Speech – Independence Festival and Present Status

On the occasion of 75th Independence Day in the college on 15th August 2022 after hoisting the flag a spontaneous speech was conducted for the students on the topic “75 Years of Indian Independence and Present Situation”. Various 6 students of the college participated in this activity. In this celebration of Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, highlighting many events in the history of India, the students presented their views on the current situation through their speeches. Sadanand Borkar, Secretary of Bhartiya Shiksahn Sansha and Dr. Suresh Bakare, Principal of the college were present for this program. Prizes were distributed to the students after the program.

12. In association with Shri Dnyanesh College and Nivedita Women’s Credit Society: Patriotic Song Singing Competition

On behalf of National Service Scheme Shri Dnyanesh College and in association with Nivedita Women’s Credit Society of Navargaon, “Patriotic Song Singing Competition ” was organized by groups of various artists on 14th August 2022 at Vivekananda Auditorium at 5.30 pm. The role behind the organization of this program was elaborated by Suresh Bakare, principal of the college. While conducting the program along with program officer Dr. G. S. Kortalwar and program co-officer Prof. Hemant Meshram. About 200 villagers were present for the program. In this program which lasted for two consecutive hours, patriotic feasts in various languages like Marathi, Hindi and Sanskrit were made available to the public. Shri Dnyanesh College actively participated in such various activities and was trying to make Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav a success.

13. Group singing of National Anthem under Independence Week

As per Gondwana University letter No.V/ Astha/2909/2022 dated 11/08/2022 dated 17th August 2022 instructions were given to all the students of junior and senior college in the college premises. At exactly 11.00 o’clock the collective national anthem was sung with the participation of all. All the students of junior and senior college and teachers and teaching staff of the college were present in large numbers in the program. Finally, the three-day program was concluded under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

Conclusion –
On behalf of Shri Dnyanesh College’s National Service Scheme, various thirteen activities were carried out to make the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav more successful, with the participation of students, teachers and non-teaching staff of the college and successfully tried to convey the positive message of this activity to the people of the village. Teachers and non-teaching staff along with the volunteers of National Service Scheme along with Program Officers and Co-officers were involved in this activity. Dr. Suresh Bakare, the principal of the college, provided guidance for this activity from time to time. Also, by cooperation, the morale of the National Service Scheme was increased.

Outcomes / Outputs of Activity

1. Successfully implemented ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ activity through students in various villages of Navargaon area.
2. On the occasion of Amrit Mahotsav of Indian Independence, various programs on the history of Indian Independence were conducted for the community by visiting the village itself.
3. Another initiative of 75 signatures per day was implemented in the college premises.
4. On the occasion of Amrut Mahotsav year in Shri Dnyanesh College, an attempt was made to shape the personality of the students by conducting debate oratory competition.
