The NSS Unit of Shri Dnyanesh Mahavidyalaya, Nawargaon organized a special program on 3rd January 2025 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Savitribai Phule, a pioneer of women’s education and social reform. The event took place in the institution’s Pasaydan Hall. It was presided over by Dr. Amrut Lanje, Principal of the college, who highlighted the significance of Savitribai Phule’s contributions in advancing education and social justice.
The keynote speaker, Mr. Vijay Wakode, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of History, delivered an inspiring address, focusing on Savitribai’s relentless efforts to eradicate social evils and promote education for women and marginalized communities. The program commenced with Ms. Geeta Parwate, a junior college teacher, delivering the introductory remarks. She emphasized the importance of continuing Savitribai Phule’s mission in today’s era. The proceedings were skillfully compered by Ms. Pragati Atram, a junior college teacher, who ensured the smooth execution of the event.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Ms. Pustode, Junior College Teacher, who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, participants, and attendees for their contribution to the program’s success. NSS Program Officers, Dr H B Meshram and Mr Ravi Deulwar made efforts to make the program successful. The program was a fitting tribute to Savitribai Phule, inspiring everyone to uphold her ideals of equality, education, and empowerment.
