Excursion Tour Report
30th December 2024 to 03 January 2025
The Science department of the institution organized a Five days’ excursion tour from 30th December 2024 to 03rd January 2025 at Mahabaleshwar, Raigad, Mahad, Ganpatipule, Harihareshwar, Murud and Jangira. Initially, the meeting was organized with the organizing teachers and the students. After much discussion on the spots and expenses, places were finalized for the tour. There were 74 students ( Boys and Girls) and 10 faculty members in-charge of the tour (Dr U Indurkar, Mr P Gobade, Mr A Parvate, Mr M Bansod, Mr A Mesharam, Ms H Bhoyar, Mr P Zode, Mr K Sonule and Mr J Suryavnshi) Under the supervision of Dr. Indurkar. On 30th December 2024, the journey started at 06:30 am and reached our destination on 31st December 2024 at Pune railway station.
Next day on 31st morning we were at Mahabaleshwar, a hill station in India’s forested Western Ghats range to observe biodiversity places and nearby sightseeing like Arther,Echo Point, Venna Lake. Falkland Point, Lingmala WaterFall, Bombay Point and Kshetra Mabaleshwar followed by Pratapgarh fort built in 1656 by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj known for its historical significance, architecture, and scenic view.
First day of year on 1st January 2025 in the morning for greeting to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj we were at Raigad fort known for its historical places, beaches and landscapes. Raigad Fort, A hill fort that was renovated by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and made his capital in 1674. Also greeted Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar for his social revolution monument Chavdar Lake at Mahad. In the evening we visited Buddhist Caves at Gandharpale near Mahad.
On 2nd January 2025 in the morning we visited Malgund Beach near Ganpatipule to observe aquatic biodiversity in the seashore. Students observed starfishes, shells, Mollusca and some small fishes also enjoyed on the bank of sea. Afternoon we all prayed at the 400 year old Swayambhu Ganapati Temple, which is present on the Ganpatipule beach. Also visited to special memorial dedicated to Krushnaji Keshav Damle who wrote by the pen name Kavi keshavsut at Malgund a quint village known as the poetry capital of Maharashtra and Jaigad Fort is a coastal fortification that is located at the tip of a peninsula in Jaigad, Ratnagiri District at a distance of 14 km from Ganpatipule.
On 3rd January 2025, we were visited the Harihareshwar Temple is a famous temple dedicated to Lord Shiva in the Konkan region and observed nearby diversity in the morning. Further we proceeded for diveagar beach for water sport and fun activities. Most of the students participated in the sports activities and made it memorable. Everyone enjoyed the big ship Jetty traveled from one seashore to another with excitement. With good memories we started the return journey in the evening and reached on 4th January 2025 at our home town.
