OPPORTUNITIES FOR B Sc AND M Sc IN LIFE SCIENCE

P G & U G Department of Zoology organised guest lecture on “Opportunities For B Sc and M Sc in Life Science” for student on 31st February 2026 at Zoology lab. Chief guest Dr Pravin M. Telkhede Chairman, Board of Studies in Zoology, Gondwana University, Gadchiroli and Professor & Head, Department of  Zoology, Dr Khatri Art, Commerce & Science College, Tukum  in District Chandrapur delivered a comprehensive address on the “Modern Horizon of Life Sciences,” highlighting that the field is no longer restricted to traditional teaching or lab work but has expanded into data science, clinical research, and entrepreneurship. Dr. Telkhede also emphasized that “the degree is the entry ticket, but the skill is the seat.” Students are encouraged to apply for internships in biotech firms during semester breaks. Prepare for competitive exams (CSIR-NET, GATE) if pursuing research. Develop a basic understanding of  Data Analytics and AI, as these are now integral to drug discovery and genomics.

Principal of college Dr Amrut Lanze chaired the session and suggest opportunities  in sectors like Healthcare, Pharma, Agriculture, Environment where B.Sc. and M.Sc. graduates are in high demand.

Dr.Umesh Indurkar opened the session by setting the context of the rapidly evolving biological sciences sector and formally introduced the guest speakers.

Mr. Gobade served as the compere, ensuring a smooth transition between the technical segments and the interactive Q & A. Ms Purva Zode proposed the vote of thanks for entire program

Outcomes / Outputs of Activity

By pursuing B Sc, M Sc degrees, students are expected to achieve the following competencies:

* Analytical Thinking: The ability to design experiments, troubleshoot protocols, and interpret complex biological data.

* Technical Mastery: Proficiency in modern laboratory tools and bioinformatics software.

* Ethical Research: Understanding the legal and moral implications of biological research

* Lateral Versatility: Ability to apply biological principles to solve global issues like climate change and pandemic management.
