The Department of English, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Shri Dnyanesh Mahavidyalaya, Nawargaon, organised an Induction Programme for the newly admitted students on 16th September 2025. The programme was conducted in the college’s Pasaydan Hall and received active participation from the students and faculty members.

The programme began with introductory remarks by Dr. A. T. Mungmode, Secretary of the staff council and Head of the Dept of Economics, who underlined the role of induction programs in orienting students to the academic environment of the institution. He noted that such events are crucial in instilling confidence, discipline, and a sense of belonging among newcomers.

The chief guest of the programme, Mr. Ashutosh Popte, Assistant Professor of English, Rashtrasant Tukdoji Mahavidyalaya, Chimur, motivated the students to view higher education as an opportunity for self-development and growth in his insightful address. He spoke about the importance of language and communication skills, analytical thinking, and active participation in academic as well as co-curricular activities. His words inspired the students to embrace learning as a lifelong journey.

Dr. L. C. Ujede, IQAC Coordinator of the college, highlighted the quality initiatives of the institution and urged students to take advantage of the academic resources and supportive environment provided by the college.

The programme was presided over by Dr. Amrut Lanje, Principal of the College, who welcomed the students in his presidential address. He reminded them that discipline, sincerity, and dedication are the cornerstones of academic and personal success. He further assured the students of the college’s commitment to their holistic development.

The entire programme was smoothly compered by Mr. Durgesh Kshirsagar, Assistant Professor of English, who kept the proceedings engaging and well-coordinated. At the end, a formal vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Bhaurao Balbudhe, Assistant Professor of Physics, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty members, and students for their participation and cooperation.

The event concluded with an interactive session, where students were encouraged to ask questions and share their expectations from the institution. This exchange helped in building a bridge of understanding between the faculty and students.
