“International women’s Day 2025” on 8th  March 2025

Department of Zoology, Shri Dnyanesh Mahavidyalaya, Nawargaon organized “International women’s Day 2025” for students at the department lab on 8th March 2025 in association with NSS and Science department of college.

 Dr A S Lanje, principal of college chaired the program, while Dr. Umesh Indurkar Head, Department of Zoology, delivered speech as a  chief guest of function. Also Ms. Ashwini Shrirame Head, Department of Chemistry, Ms. Heena  Bhoyar  and  Ms. Trushali Dekate occupied their seats as the main guest of function and delivered the speech on women empowerment and women strength. The theme of this year for International women’s Day 2025 is“ Accelerating Action”. This year’s theme calls for action that can unlock equal rights, power and opportunities for all and a feminist future where no one is left behind. Central to this vision is empowering the next generation—youth, particularly young women and adolescent girls—as catalysts for lasting change. International women’s Day is celebrated in India on 8 March each year to recognize and honor  women accomplishment in social,  economic, cultural and political achievements.

07 students participated and presented their view on international women’s Day. Payal Puttawar M Sc II , Anjali Narpache B Sc II,  Siddhi Mendulkar B Sc I, Chetna Borkar B Sc II,Tejswini Mohinkar B Sc II, Bhagyashree Parvate  B Sc II and Tejswini Gurnule B Sc III. This students signified many social issues such as female infanticide, women harassment, as well as inequality and also encourage other students to fight those problems.

Dr. Umesh Indurkar has expressed his view on this occasion. He said International women’s Day is celebrated to recognizing women accomplishments in numerous sector and advocating for gender equality. He also said that while teaching Reproductive Biology they always says that the mitochondria and the other organelles are only given by the mother to the young one by saying this he explain the existence of the women’s on  the international women’s Day. Chairperson Dr A S Lanje talked about the Gender equality he said women have equal employment, opportunities and can compete with men also talk about women’s achievements and their role in society and give a beautiful massage to all the students to respect women’s because every Day is a women’s Day.

Ms Arti Meshram compared the program while Ms Ashwini Zode  proposed the vote of thanks. Mr.Angraj Parvate and the other non-teaching staff took efforts to organise  this program.  Large number of students and staff members were present on this occasion and made it successfully.
