On the eve of National Mathematics Day, which is celebrated in remembrance of the great Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan, the Mathematics department and the institution’s Mathematical Club held a Poster and Rangoli competition in the college premises. For both competitions, the constraints were set. Mathematical notions should be reflected in the Rangoli, and the Poster should demonstrate how mathematics is used in daily life. Overall, 45 students took part in the activity. All participants received certificates, whereas the winners were awarded with cash prizes. The event’s chair, Dr. Suresh Bakare, the institution’s principal, commended the students for their hard work and urged that other departments should arrange similar events to highlight the students’ underlying talents. The competition was assessed by Mr. Hemant Meshram, Head of the Physics Department, and Mr. Bhaurao Balbudhe, Assistant Professor in the Physics Department of the home institute. The whole event was compered by BSc 3rd year student Ms Prajakta Meshram (Vice president of club) and vote of thanks was proposed by 1st year student Ms Achal Parate.
