Honorable President, Chief Guest, respected professors, esteemed villagers, and my dear volunteer friends and siblings,
I am extremely pleased to present a brief report on the 7-day residential camp organized by the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of Shri Dnyanesh Mahavidyalaya, Nawargaon.
This NSS residential camp was successfully conducted at Z. P. Primary School, Nandgaon with the enthusiastic participation of 50 volunteers.
The themes of the camp were:
“Youth for My India” and “Youth for Digital Literacy.”
The primary objective of this camp was to inculcate a sense of patriotism and social responsibility among youth, as well as to create awareness about digital literacy in rural areas.
The National Service Scheme is an important program implemented under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. The main objective of NSS is to develop a spirit of social service among students. NSS plays a significant role in the overall development of students, and therefore it is rightly called a “School of Life.”
Among the various activities conducted by NSS, the annual special camp holds special importance. This camp was organized in Nandgaon starting from the 19th to 25th January 2026. During these seven days, all the volunteers and program officers truly became an integral part of the village.
Although seven days is a short period, we believe that meaningful change always begins with small efforts. Throughout these seven days, we organized a variety of activities including physical, intellectual, social, and cultural projects.
The daily routine of the camp was well planned and disciplined. Each day began with wake-up call, followed by prayer, exercise, and yoga. Despite the cold weather, all volunteers participated enthusiastically and demonstrated excellent discipline.
Manual labor formed a vital part of the camp. Today, the importance of physical labor among students is gradually declining. Keeping in mind the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi and Sant Gadge Baba, the significance of dignity of labor was explained to the volunteers. Every day, three hours were devoted to community service activities such as village cleanliness, road cleaning, and public space maintenance. The villagers highly appreciated these efforts.
To ensure intellectual development, various lectures and discussions were organized. Eminent speakers guided students on topics such as the role of new voters in democracy, competitive examination guidance, national values, and youth empowerment. Volunteers also participated in home visits, group discussions, and surveys. A social awareness rally and a health check-up camp were also successfully organized.
Cultural activities were another important highlight of the camp. Cultural programs were presented daily with the aim of spreading social awareness along with entertainment. The enthusiastic response from villagers showed that these programs were meaningful and impactful.
On this concluding day, I would like to say that our volunteers not only contributed to the development of this village but also gained valuable life experiences, discipline, confidence, and social sensitivity.
With this, I conclude my report here.
I sincerely thank all the honorable guests, villagers, program officers, and my dear volunteers for their cooperation and support.
Thank you.
