One-Day Seminar on “Accelerating Action for Gender Equality” at Shri Dnyanesh College

On the occasion of International Women’s Day and as part of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of the Indian Education Institute, Navargaon, Shri Dnyanesh College, Navargaon, organized a one-day seminar on “Accelerating Action for Gender Equality” on March 8, 2025.
The seminar was chaired by the college principal, Dr. Amrit Lanje, while the keynote speaker was Dr. Vijaya Gedam from Dr. Ambedkar College, Chandrapur. In her address, Dr. Gedam emphasized the need to accelerate efforts toward gender equality and cited various examples from Stri Purush Tulana, a pioneering work on gender equality by Tarabai Shinde.
Principal Dr. Amrit Lanje stated that gender equality should be nurtured within every household to give real momentum to the cause. The event was organized by the Sociology Department, under the leadership of Dr. Mandakini Nihite, who stressed in her opening remarks that the government must take stringent measures to curb violence and atrocities against women.
The program was skillfully hosted by Prof. Usha Wadpalliwar, with Prof. Sunil Kumbhare as a distinguished guest. The vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. Pragati Atram. The seminar witnessed a large gathering of faculty members, non-teaching staff, and students.
