72nd Republic Day was celebrated with patriotic zeal and enthusiasm in the institution. COVID-19 has been spread in our community as a result of which the academic institutions remained closed for a long time. Before inviting the students and the staff for this gathering, they were directed to stay safe by taking some simple precautions, such as physical distancing, wearing a mask, keeping classrooms well sanitized and ventilated, avoiding crowds, cleaning their hands frequently, and coughing into a bent elbow or tissue. At the outset, „Flag-hosting‟ was taken place by the hands of the Secretary of Bhartiya Shikshan Sanstha, Nawargaon Mr Sadanand Borkar followed by collectively chorused national anthem. Principal Dr Bakare made the introductory remarks. The programme was commenced with the oath of the „Preamble to the Constitution of India‟ by one and all. On this occasion, the „Elocution Competition‟ was organized on the theme „Corona and We.‟ This competition was opened for all the students of the Senior as well as the Junior wing of the college. The competition was significantly responded to by the students. The students expressed their views on the topic effectively. On this occasion, the Academic Excellence Awards were distributed to the students of all the classes by the hands of the guest. It is to be noted that this year two students from the institution 1. Mr Vaibhav Mohurley stood first in the final year BA and 2. Ms Shalu Gharat stood first in the final year B Sc (among Scheduled Tribes) in Gondwana University, Gadchiroli. They brought honour to the institution by this achievement. These two meritorious students were felicitated by the hands of the guest with a memento, cash prize and bouquet. This year, the principal of the institution Dr Bakare Sir was honoured by Gondwana University, Gadchiroli as „The Best Principal‟. This award added one more feather to the cap of the institution. To celebrate this success, principal Dr Bakare Sir was felicitated on behalf of the staff and the students by the hands of the guest with a memento, shawl, shreefal and bouquet. The chairperson of the function Mr Sadanand Borkar delivered the chairperson speech and greeted the students. He also advised the students to stay safe by taking some simple precautions to avoid the spread of the pandemic. Finally, Mrs Sonwane proposed a vote of thanks. The programme was conducted by the coordinator of the Cultural Wing Dr L C Ujede. Many students of the institution, all the teaching faculty and non-teaching staff were present in the programme.
