Savitribai Phule Jayanti was celebrated by NSS department of Shri Dnayanesh Mahavidyalaya, Nawargaon in college campus to commemorate the birth anniversary of Savitribai Phule, India’s first woman teacher and a great social reformer. She dedicated her life to women’s education, social equality, and the upliftment of the oppressed sections of society. The programme aimed to create awareness among students about her inspirational life and contributions.
The programme began with garlanding the portrait of Savitribai Phule with hands of Dr. Amrut Lanje, Principal followed by a brief introduction highlighting her role in promoting women’s education and fighting social evils such as caste discrimination and gender inequality.
NSS Program officer Pfof. Dr. Heamantkumar Meshram delivered speech on her life, struggles, and achievements and shared thoughts on the importance of girls’ education in today’s society. He guided students by explaining how Savitribai Phule’s ideas are still relevant in modern India.
All the Faculty members and Non-teaching staffwere present on this occation. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Durgesh Kshirsagar.
