6. To aware about how to manage waste plastic as it is very hazardous to living things.
7. To know about the origin of the plastic.

Complete Story

Department of Physics, Shri Dnyanesh Mahavidyalaya, Nawargaon organised Two Days Skill Development Programme on “PLASTIC RECYCLING AND WASTE MANAGEMENT”, a joint venture with Central Institute of Petrochemical Engineering and Technology (CIPET: CSTS), Chandrapur on 14 & 15 February 2023. The event was conducted at Pasaydan Hall on Day-1 and CIPET Chandrapur on Day-2.

Day-I: Inauguration of Program and Theory Part Discussion through PPT Presentation

On the 1st day of event conducted at Pasaydan Hall DMVN, the chief guest of the inauguration programme was Dr. A. K. Joshi, Head & Director CIPET. He expressed his views on Plastic processing and introduced various processes required in Plastic processing. He also encouraged students to join Short term courses conducted at CIPET Chandrapur and to pursue their career in Rahul Ukey, Mechanical Engineering and Sharath P. T., Assi. Technical Officer were the Resource persons. The speakers demonstrated on PPT and expressed their views on unlimited use of plastic in everyday life, however, the excessive use of plastic is awesome hazard to the environment and human habitat. They highlighted the importance of recycling of daily used plastic and waste management in order to make the earth liveable and habitable.
On academic front, the resource persons also guided the students to join for Certificate courses (3 & 6 months), Diploma courses (2/3 years) at CIPET for placements and additional amenities provided to the students in CIPET located at Chandrapur.
Dr Joshi was felicitated on this occasion by the hands of the Principal Dr Bakare. Principal Dr Bakare presided over the function and appreciated the social cause of CIPET in his chairperson address. Head of Physics department H B Meshram introduced the guests and gave introductory remark. Asst. Professor B R Balbudhe conducted the proceedings. Prashant Zode proposed a vote of thanks. Around 200 students attended the program. All the faculty members were present in the event at Pasayadan auditorium.

Day-II: Live Demonstration of Various Plastic Processing Machines

On Day-2 of the event, total 51 students along with 7 Faculty members visited the CIPET Chandrapur. Prior instructions were given to students before the start of live demonstration by Mr. Rahul Ukey. The four department introduced by Rahul Ukey, were planned to visit and live demonstration by respective coordinators. The visit of four departments includes:
1. CAD/CAM unit: In this unit, 3D or 2D images of sample were made by AutoCAD software or other software’s. The shape, size, length, thickness and parameters of the material were finalise by the owner. Then this final programme sent to the tool unit.

2. Tool unit: In this unit moulding (sacha/dhacha) of the sample were made by operators with the help of different LATHE and drill machines. After completing moulding of the sample sent to the processing unit.

3. Processing unit: In this unit final product were prepared by different machines which are computer program operated.

4. Testing unit: In this unit safety measures were tested by different machines. According to the application of the plastic sample. If the safety measures are good then that product comes into market.

Visiting these four departments students gained knowledge and information about plastic processing from prototype to manufacturing and from manufacturing to testing. Students also expressed their views and happiness. The two days event was concluded by certificate distribution from CIPET Chandrapur at Conference Hall.
