1. To develop talent among students in performing street plays in various awareness rallies.
2. To create awareness among the students along with creating awareness in society through street drama.
3. To make students practice writing code on various social issues.

NSS Week was organized from 24th September to 30th September 2023 on behalf of the National Service Scheme Department of Shri Dnyanesh College. Due to mid-term vacation, the seventh activity under this week’s “Street Drama” competition concluded on Monday, 1st October 2023 from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm in the college premises.
Three teams, one each from BA and BSc first, second, and third-year students participated in the street drama competition. The third-year team presented their street play on “Waste Management”. Second Year team presented a street play on “Addiction and Superstition in Society”. First-year girls performed a street play on the theme of gender equality. Gajanan Kortalwar, Program Officer of National Service Scheme, Milind Fulzele Program Officer of Junior College, and Snehal Kortalwar, examined these three street plays.
Before all the competitions, all the Cham students of the street theatre competition were given some guidance. As the street play was to be performed in the open streets, instructions were given regarding speaking dialogues in a loud voice. Kortalwar said that if everyone makes their dialogue very effective and adds acting to it, the street play will be effective. Later it was announced that the competition was over.

Outcomes / Outputs of Activity

1. Nearly 50 students from all three classes participated in the street drama competition.
2. The students wrote their own scripts for street plays on various social issues.
3. Students presented a highly educative street play on three topics: women, equality, addiction, and waste management.
