Department of English organized One Day Webinar on “Classes to Masses: Need of English Language” to celebrate ‘World Book Day’ on the occasion of the Birth and Death Anniversary of William Shakespeare on 23rd April 2021.
Dr. S S Bakare, the Principal, gave the opening remark and presided over the function. The webinar received a satisfactory response from the students.
Dr. Arvind Sovani, Associate Professor, C P & Berar College Nagpur enlightened the audience with the need for the English language as it’s a global language. He further said that every language has its own importance and its origin is deeply rooted in the regional culture. But walking hand in hand with modern technology, we should cultivate the culture of the English language and literature as English is broadly used in technology. In his well-versed studious speech, he shared valuable inputs with supporting varied examples from the arena around. Extracting the easiest examples from the favorite area like politics, Bollywood, and sports, he focused on the need to learn English.
Dr. L C Ujede, Head, Department of English, coordinated the function, and Mr. D R Kshirsagar, Assistant Professor, Department of English, proposed a vote of thanks.
